Welcome to Gravity Cafe, a captivating art cafe nestled on the serene Boudha - Jorpati Rd in Kathmandu. This hidden gem is not just a regular cafe; it’s a unique blend of culinary artistry, tranquil ambiance, and stunning views that make it a perfect retreat for those seeking peace and inspiration.

The cafe boasts a delightful array of medium to high-end cuisine that promises to tantalize your taste buds. Whether you’re starting your day with one of their generous breakfast bargains or indulging in a satisfying "Khana set" (a traditional Nepali thali) for lunch or dinner, there's something for everyone. The aromas of freshly made dishes waft through the air, elevating your dining experience, while the rich flavors take you on a journey through Nepalese and Continental cuisines.

As you sit back in the cozy, artsy environment, you’ll enjoy delightful dishes like expertly crafted pasta, which receives rave reviews for being particularly tasty by South Asian standards, as well as a variety of local specialties that change daily, ensuring each visit holds something new and exciting. The cafe is perfect for leisurely meals, with many patrons commenting on the ideal ambiance, especially during the early evening when the soft glow of the Boudha Stupa adds a magical touch to the atmosphere. Customers like 'Dolpo Boy' appreciate the calmness, while 'Lekshe King Tamang' finds joy in sipping quality espresso while flipping through the local English papers available for guests.

One of Gravity Cafe’s standout features is undoubtedly its breathtaking view of the Great Stupa, particularly at night when the stupa is beautifully illuminated. As 'Rob Weiss' mentions, it serves as a great escape from the bustling crowds, making it a favored spot for both locals and travelers alike. The only aspect that could enhance the experience is the seating, which could benefit from a few traditional dining tables to cater to an older clientele, as pointed out by Lekshe King Tamang.

In conclusion, Gravity Cafe is more than just a place to enjoy food; it's an experience of tranquility, where art meets gastronomy. With commendable service that receives high praise despite a few operational hiccups concerning management, this cafe is set to leave a lasting impression. Whether you're seeking a peaceful coffee break or a delightful dining experience with friends and family, Gravity Cafe is waiting to welcome you with open arms and a plate full of culinary delights.

Calm and tranquil place for peace loving people. Hospitaliy and service is good enough. The view of the Boudha stupa is stunning specially during night time.

For medium- to high-end cuisine this rooftop cafe is a bargain. Clear view of the Great Stupa and a menu that includes large breakfast bargains and one of the better "Khana set" or thale spreads for lunch and dinner. Continental dishes include pasta which is imported and tasty, by south Asia standards at any rate. The actual food served on any order varies day to day but is tasty and consistent enough to m27erit five stars -- with an emphasis on value. --UPDATE, NOV. 27 2024 -- Recent developments in the neighborhood, such as the Malaya Rooftop, have stolen the Gravity Cafe's mojo. But now more than ever, it is a bargain and a refuge from crowded restaurants nearby. Great service, super comfy setting and great views ... but you have to walk your fat a55 up three storeys to get here!

I had several meals here.. nice ambiance in daytime or early evening and great views. Good espresso drinks. I wish there were one or two actual dining tables—a little higher with straight back chairs..in addition to the lower ‘bar style coffee tables’ I am older. Food is tasty and they keep English daily local papers handy, a great morning coffee break spot!

Great place for lunch or dinner, away from the crowds at the Stoupa. Enjoyed several meals here on our recent trip yo Kathmandu.

This is a hidden Gem near Boudha Kora, a nice & quiet place with good ambience, great food and a good view of the Boudha Stupa. However the management staff (not the floor staff) lack proper vision. They issued me a paid member card which when I wanted to use was said to be discontinued! Food - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Location - 3.5/5 Price - 3.5/5 Parking - 2 Wheelers only.
